Dermatology

The dermatology service at the VSC provides a specialist opinion on all types of skin and ear disease, helping to make a rapid diagnosis and providing optimal treatment. Dr Peter Hill is happy to see any case, whether it be relatively common conditions that are frustrating to manage (e.g. allergies, chronic ear infections, demodex, skin infections), rare or complicated conditions that may be difficult to diagnose and treat (e.g. auto-immune diseases, unexplained alopecias) or things that just look unfamiliar or aren't responding to treatment as you'd like. Remember that it doesn't matter how simple or complex the case appears to be - if its skin, it can come in!

Specialist services include:

• Allergy testing and allergen immunotherapy (desensitization)
• Detailed microscopic skin evaluation
• Skin biopsy and pathology (Peter reads his own biopsies)
• Assessment of chronic ear infections using state of the art video-otoscopy equipment. Peter has specific expertise in the treatment of chronic otitis.
