Small Animal Specialist Surgeon

Dr. Stephen Fearnside graduated from The University of Sydney with Honours in 1995. He completed his internship in The Northern Sydney Veterinary Specialist Centre in 1999 and in 2000 commenced his Small Animal Surgery Residency at The West Chermside Veterinary Specialist Centre in Brisbane. On completion of his residency training, Stephen was appointed as the Head of the Small Animal Department at The University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Camden. In 2004, he was awarded his Fellowship in Small Animal Surgery and was also awarded with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists award for best publication in the Australian Veterinary Practitioner in that year. He has served as a Fellowship Examiner in surgery for the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists and has lectured both undergraduates and postgraduates in Australia and overseas. Steve's particular interests are in surgical diseases of the spine, cancer surgery (surgical oncology) and canine arthroscopic surgery.
